Friday in Fiji

Today is Friday afternoon and everyone on the team is doing well. Everyone has adjusted to the time difference and is sleeping good. We have done a lot of work around the site that we are staying at. Some are weeding and planting fruit, four people are building a well and all of us help with kids club in the afternoon. The kids are all coming from the village from 1:30-3:30 every day to learn about Jesus. They are all very sweet and love to sing. This is always one of the highlights of our days. When you see a Hindu or Fijian child praising Jesus it does something to your heart. Most of them come from very very poor homes and don’t ever get out of their own little village. Some of them bring their moms and they have really taken to the girls. . It has been such a blessing to see the girls connect with Fijian girls and realize how blessed they are. Today we were able to experience something that only can be explained in person by each one you know. There is a 19 year old girl staying here at Momi Bay with us who has a 2 week old baby. She comes from a very strict Hindu family and was kicked out of her home several days ago. Today she gave her life to Christ and we went down to the ocean and baptized her. She then prayed for and dedicated her baby to the Lord. There were a lot of tears and rejoicing! She came from a very abusive and destructive situation (sex slavery is huge here). We have been so blessed to be a part of her conversion and witness something none of us will ever forget. Everyone sends their love home and misses each of you. You will see different people when we come home and it is all the work of the one above our Lord Jesus Christ.
